Where Field Go Fallow is a tabletop roleplaying game with heritage from story games about villagers who stand their ground against something monstrous.
No heroes. No swords. Just a home worth keeping – and the fear that it may already be lost.
First launched on Kickstarter in early 2025, the game is now finished and available to download or purchase here. It casts players as ordinary folk from the Lower Princedoms, caught in the aftermath of a war that left the land broken and the beasts stranger than before.
You play villagers bound by old ties, hard seasons, and the quiet rituals of getting by. The game is shaped by what matters in a village – reputation, grudges, shared work, and the stories people still whisper when the fields fall silent.
Each scene turns on choices that reveal what you value, and what you need to sacrifice. With OGREISH, you roll once, but let the conversations flow – the outcome invites reflection and agency, not just reaction. You value fellowship, hard work on projects that matter, and changes in the village over time, building a story that feels genuine, well-founded, and real. In the end, you will experience the fruit of your sacrifices. Will they be enough?
Designed by Christian Svalander (@empatchamber) and illustrated by Steven De Waele (@stoneddrunkwizard), this is the first release powered by OGREISH – a story-first game engine built for living conversations and engaging outcomes.
You can soon purchase and download the PDF, or order a printed copy. Whatever you choose – welcome to the fields.
